Gatekeepers is a location based mobile game developed by SparkAtlas Interactive Inc.
Gatekeepers is currently in beta testing. Some features, data practices, and services may change as the app is improved.
01 Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create or use an account, we may collect information such as:
- your user account identifier;
- login or authentication related information;
- email address, if provided through the sign in system;
- basic account status and profile information needed to operate the app;
We use this information to create and manage your account, save your progress, and provide app functionality.
Location Information
Gatekeepers uses your device location to provide location based gameplay. This may include:
- showing your position on the mission map;
- generating nearby walking missions;
- detecting when you reach mission waypoints;
- identifying cities near you for in game assignment;
- supporting gameplay features based on real world movement;
Location information may be processed by the app and may be sent to our backend services when needed to create, update, or complete missions.
Gameplay and Mission Data
We collect gameplay information necessary to run the game, including:
- active and completed missions;
- waypoint progress;
- encounter results;
- inventory, resources, and item usage;
- gate and city related game progress;
- app state needed to resume your game experience;
Device, Diagnostic, and Beta Testing Data
During beta testing, we may receive diagnostic and testing information, including:
- crash reports;
- app performance information;
- TestFlight feedback;
- screenshots or comments submitted by testers;
- basic usage information related to app testing;
We use this information to fix bugs, improve performance, and improve the app experience.
Communications
If you contact us by email, Discord, TestFlight feedback, or another support channel, we may collect the information you choose to provide, such as your message, email address, screenshots, bug reports, or device details.
02 How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- operate the app and provide gameplay features;
- generate and update missions;
- detect waypoint arrival and mission progress;
- save user progress and inventory;
- improve app quality, stability, and usability;
- investigate bugs, crashes, and technical problems;
- communicate with beta testers and users;
- prevent misuse, abuse, fraud, or security issues;
- comply with legal, platform, and App Store requirements;
We do not sell your personal information.
03 Third Party Services
Gatekeepers uses third party services to operate the app. These services may process data as part of providing their functionality.
Apple and TestFlight
For iOS beta testing, Gatekeepers may be distributed through Apple TestFlight. Apple may collect and provide beta testing information such as crash reports, feedback, screenshots, and usage related testing data according to Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.
Amazon Web Services
We use Amazon Web Services, including services such as authentication, backend functions, databases, storage, and APIs, to operate Gatekeepers and store app data.
Google Maps and Location Services
Gatekeepers may use Google Maps, Places, Routes, or related Google services to support map display, waypoint generation, route checks, and location based gameplay features.
Your use of these services may also be subject to the privacy policies and terms of Apple, Google, Amazon, or other service providers.
04 How We Share Information
We may share information only in limited situations:
- with service providers that help us operate the app, such as cloud hosting, authentication, maps, analytics, diagnostics, or testing services;
- when required by law, legal process, or government request;
- to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the public, SparkAtlas Interactive Inc., or our services;
- in connection with a business transaction such as merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, if applicable in the future.
We do not sell user data to advertisers or data brokers.
05 Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Gatekeepers, support beta testing, improve the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.
Some beta testing data may be retained while the app is being tested and improved. Gameplay data may be kept so that users can continue their missions and progress.
We may delete or anonymize data that is no longer needed.
06 Your Choices
You can control location access through your device settings.
If you disable location access, some or all Gatekeepers gameplay features may not work correctly, because the app depends on location to generate and track missions.
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account or personal data, subject to technical, legal, and operational limitations.
07 Children
Gatekeepers is not currently intended for children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
08 Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
09 Beta Testing Notice
Gatekeepers is currently in beta. Beta versions may contain bugs, incomplete features, inaccurate location behavior, or unstable gameplay systems.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Gatekeepers changes. If we make significant changes, we may notify users through the app, website, TestFlight notes, email, Discord, or another appropriate channel.
